From the network to the government: the Dialog members running Washington

Treasury, DOGE, the Army, HHS, the White House crypto desk — a striking share of the Dialog network now holds senior posts in the Trump administration. A sourced map of the pipeline.

The pipeline

A network is one thing on a donor list and another thing in a cabinet room. Cross-referencing the Dialog membership against confirmed and announced federal appointments, a striking number of names have moved from the board into the top of the government.

Who holds what

  • Scott Bessent — U.S. Treasury Secretary, confirmed 68 to 29 in January 2025.
  • Elon Musk — led the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as a special government employee from January 2025.
  • David Sacks — White House AI and Crypto Czar; a PayPal-era associate of Peter Thiel.
  • Jim O'Neill — Deputy Secretary of Health and Human Services, later acting CDC director; a longtime Thiel associate.
  • Dan Driscoll — Secretary of the Army, confirmed 66 to 28.
  • Will Scharf — White House Staff Secretary, and previously one of Trump's personal attorneys.

The Thiel thread

Two of those appointments — O'Neill at HHS and Sacks on AI and crypto — trace directly to Peter Thiel's orbit, the same figure at the center of the Dialog network itself. It is the clearest illustration of what the board exists to show: private networks becoming public power.

Not a first

This is not new. In the first Trump term, Jared Kushner served as senior advisor and Dina Powell McCormick as deputy national security advisor. The 2025 cohort is larger and sits closer to the money — Treasury, a government-efficiency mandate, and the crypto brief among them.

How to read this

Each of these is a documented, public appointment, sourced to confirmation votes and official announcements — not an inference. Holding office is not wrongdoing, and nothing here suggests otherwise. What the map shows is reach: where a private network's members now sit inside the state. Every name links to the record.

Read this the right way. An association on the board is a documented, cited connection — not an allegation of wrongdoing, illegality, or coordination beyond what the source states. Figures are drawn from public records and may contain errors or same-name mismatches.
