Privacy Policy

Who we are
Dialog Tracker is an independent research project. This policy covers the Dialog Tracker website.
The short version
We don't run advertising or marketing analytics, we don't sell or rent your data, and we don't build visitor profiles. We collect only what's needed to run the site, fix bugs, and process voluntary donations.
What we collect
- Server logs. Like almost all websites, our hosting/CDN provider (Vercel) and our database provider (Supabase) automatically log technical data — IP address, browser/device type, pages requested, and timestamps — to operate the service and prevent abuse. This is retained for a limited period and is not used to identify you.
- Aggregate, cookieless analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to understand overall traffic (which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from) and page-load performance. These are privacy-friendly and cookieless: they set no cookies, do not track you across other websites, and do not build a profile of you. They are not advertising or marketing analytics.
- Functional cookie / local storage. A cookie remembers interface state (for example, a collapsed panel). If you sign in as an editor, your session is stored in your browser's local storage. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
- Error diagnostics. When something breaks, technical error details and the page you were on are sent to our error-monitoring provider so we can fix it. This is used only for reliability, not marketing.
- Donations. Voluntary contributions are handled entirely by our third-party processors (Givebutter, and if enabled, PayPal). Dialog Tracker never receives or stores your card or bank details; those providers process your payment under their own privacy policies.
- Messages you send us. If you contact us (for example, a correction request on X or by email), we keep that correspondence to handle your request.
Third parties we rely on
Website hosting/CDN and cookieless analytics (Vercel — Web Analytics and Speed Insights), our database provider (Supabase), our error-monitoring provider, and donation processors (Givebutter, PayPal). Each has its own privacy policy. We do not run marketing or advertising analytics and do not sell your data; if that ever changes, we will update this page first.
