Former chief of staff to Rep. Katie Porter; 2026 U.S. Senate candidate (D)
Jordan Wood, 36, was born and raised in Lewiston, Maine, and built a career in campaign-finance and anti-corruption politics: he served as chief of staff to former U.S. Rep. Katie Porter and as a vice president for political at the reform group End Citizens United, where he ran its 'No Corporate PAC' pledge. He also co-founded and led democracyFIRST, a group formed in 2021 to counter election-denial efforts. After first entering the 2026 U.S. Senate race in April 2025, he withdrew to run for Maine's open 2nd Congressional District seat — where his committee raised about $5.7 million and he lent it $400,000 — before finishing third in the June 2026 primary. In July 2026 he re-entered the Senate race against Republican Sen. Susan Collins. [Jordan Wood Announces Maine Senate Bid (The Advocate) ↗]
