John Fetterman's father; York, Pa. insurance-business owner who subsidized his son for decades
Karl Fetterman built a fortune in the York, Pennsylvania insurance business (associated with Kling Bros. Insurance Agency) and is the father of Sen. John Fetterman. Reporting on Fetterman's finances established that his parents' insurance-industry wealth heavily subsidized his life and political rise: for years his main income came from his parents, who gave him and his family $54,000 in 2015 alone while his only paying job was $150 a month as mayor of Braddock, and the family money also underwrote his Braddock nonprofit work and statewide campaigns.
