Paul LePage

Former Governor of Maine (2011-2019); 2026 Republican nominee for U.S. House (ME-2)

Paul R. LePage (b. 1948) is a Maine Republican who served as the 74th Governor of Maine from 2011 to 2019, following two terms as Mayor of Waterville (2004-2011). A combative fiscal conservative, he earlier managed the Maine-based discount retailer Marden's. In 2026 he ran effectively unopposed for the Republican nomination in Maine's open 2nd Congressional District and faces Democrat Matt Dunlap in a nationally watched toss-up.
