RightNow Technologies was a customer-relationship-management software company founded in 1997 in Bozeman, Montana, by Greg Gianforte. After bootstrapping, it took venture capital from Summit Partners and Greylock and went public in 2004. Steve Daines joined the firm around 2000 and rose to a senior executive role overseeing customer service and, later, sales and marketing; the company was acquired by Oracle in 2012.
