Sherrod Brown is a Democratic former U.S. Senator from Ohio who served three terms (2007-2025) after 14 years in the U.S. House (1993-2007), and earlier served as Ohio Secretary of State (1983-1991) and in the Ohio House (1975-1983). He lost his 2024 reelection bid to Republican Bernie Moreno. In 2025 he entered the 2026 U.S. Senate special election and won the Democratic nomination, and is the party's nominee facing appointed incumbent Jon Husted in the general election on November 3, 2026.
